I write about film, fashion, girls, various forms of nostalgia, stuff that’s almost (but not quite) cheesy, etc. I live in New York and have a BA in Cinema Studies and Literature from SUNY Purchase and a MS in Library Science from Pratt. My work has appeared in The Washington Post, Time Out New York, Sight & Sound, The Village Voice (RIP), and many other publications. I write a monthly film and fashion column, “Costume Party,” for Nylon. In addition to writing, I’ve worked at a selection of media archives, cataloguing everything from pictures of ’60s and ’70s rock stars to tapes of Mob Wives. An anagram of my name is Babe Be Nerdy, and my favorite colored pencil is Hollywood Cerise.
