Abbey Bender is a New York-based journalist. Most recently, she worked as a Staff Writer at Woman’s World for four years. In this role, she wrote over 500 online articles, with a particular focus on entertainment and lifestyle topics relevant to women over 40. She also wrote six cover stories for the print magazine. She has over a decade of editorial experience, and her writing on film and fashion has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Filmmaker Magazine, The Village Voice, Time Out New York, and other publications.

Outside of writing for magazines and newspapers, Abbey has also contributed written and visual essays to a variety of Blu-ray releases, and had an essay featured in the book The Wes Anderson Collection: The French Dispatch. She has previously done social media work for companies like the Criterion Collection and Netflix and archive work for Rolling Stone. She has a BA in Cinema Studies and Literature from SUNY Purchase and an MS in Library and Information Science with a Certificate in Archives from the Pratt Institute.
